Is it true? Xiaomi developing its own OS?

There’s a rumor that the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi is creating their own

operating system for mobile, the MiOS are developed by Xiaomi for the replacement of the current Firefox OS, which experts explained that might mean Xiaomi is striving to get rid of the dominance of Google’s Android OS for cheap smartphones (I guess this is a war for smartphone OS), that is based on blog.sina.com.cn

However, Xiaomi released a smartphones that runs with Android program in India have outperformed other mobile phones that is using same program, bringing up issues about whether it is clever for Xiaomi to release its own OS for cheap smartphones. Xiaomi’s assumed purpose of releasing its own operating system appears more like a promotional trick, (and I’m hoping not). Maybe Xiaomi wants to release OS to build their own smartphone ecosystem.

Xiaomi provide its own smartphones and has appreciated by many users and also enjoy their sales number in just a short time. However the Samsung World’s number 1 seller of smartphone failed to market its Bada and Tizen OS. This signifies that device manufactures may not be capable to do well in developing their own software and smartphone ecosystem.

But who knows, maybe if this alleged MiOS is true and be released, people easily adopt it as long as the OS is user friendly that thing must be consider.
